A Look Through The Ages is a zine that will be a culmination of art works throughout history depicted as if they existed in the world of One Piece! Each art piece will be accompanied by a short written piece, or ekphrases, that will provide a short glimpse into the art piece.Physical Merch for A Look Through The Ages will be focused on flat/paper merch that is reproductions of the zine's pieces. Think like stickers, postcards, ad the like. Digital Merch for the zine will be more stationery focused on the museum that the zine "exists" in!What is this zine about? What kind of pieces are you looking for?A Look Through The Ages is a zine that seeks to showcase real world art pieces through history as if they were created in world of One Piece along with short fics that provide a snippet into the world within the piece.Think Starry Night but it's Kurigana Island, or The Great Wave off Kanagawa but with the Moby Dick (Whitebeard's ship), etc. Paintings, statues, murals—any historical art piece from the dawn of time to modern day can be depicted in this zine.An Example: For Starry Night as reimagined on Kurigana Island, a fic/ekphraksis could be Mihawk pondering the sky while he works in his garden OR Zoro training under it and thinking about how it looks like the sky back on the Sunny etc).Are there any “don’ts” in regard to pitches/pieces?First and foremost, we expect all contributors to show respect for the history and cultures they are representing through their pieces and to do research for their pieces as needed.Will the zine be digital or physical?This zine will be both physical and digital.Will there be an add-on zine? What if I want to create more or show my process?Along with the main physical zine (which will also be available digitally), there will be an add-on that will cater to the more “behind the scenes” process of the zine pieces. Depending on what the contributors would like to submit, this zine may contain sketches, extended written pieces, parts that didn’t make the final fics, notes, references, anything that provides more insight into how the zine’s pieces were made!This is entirely optional for all contributors! You are not required to submit anything to this zine if accepted.Is this zine for-profit or for-charity?A Look Through The Ages will be a profit/charity split.Is NSFW allowed? What is the rating of the zine?This zine will only be SFW. All content should not surpass PG-13 rating.Do I have to create a new piece for the zine?Every contributor will need to create a new piece within the timeline of the zine.What is the age requirement of the zine?All contributors must be 18 or older at the time of application.How will contributors be compensated?All contributors will get a PDF copy of the zine at minimum. If sales allow, then they will also get a copy of the zine/a full bundle.How many contributors are you accepting?This is to be determined after the Interest Check.Where will the product be shipped from?TBD after a shipping mod has been found.Can I post WIPs during the creation period?No, all work that pertains to your zine piece is not allowed to be shared whether it’s a social media post or streaming. There will be a designated preview period where a portion of your piece will be shown, but you are not allowed to share your piece until directed to by the mod team.

CONTRIBUTOR REQUIREMENTS
[Application Requirements]🖼️ All applicants will be required to submit three (3) samples of their best work. These links should be accessible without needing to sign into an account.🖼️ A portfolio with at least five (5) additional works. This can be an ao3 works page, a carrd, drive folder, etc. Please do not provide a link to your social media. These links should be accessible without needing to sign into an account.🖼️ One Piece samples are preferred by not required.🖼️ Writers: Pieces must be under 1k words. Excerpts are okay but at least one sample should be a completed story under the word limit. We would also love to see flash fiction or small bits of analysis as samples, but this is not required!🖼️ Artists: At least one piece must include a full background. All pieces must be complete and not be sketches/wips.🖼️ 🖼️ 🖼️[ZINE REQUIREMENTS]🖼️ You must be 18 years or older at time of application submission.🖼️ All contributors are required to have a Discord account, as that is how all communications for the zine will be handled. Please make sure you can receive messages from zine mods within Discord.🖼️ All pieces submitted should be created by you. AI art and plagiarism is not allowed and if you are caught doing either you will be removed from the zine. Prior pieces are not allowed either and all pieces must be made during the creation schedule.🖼️ All contributors are expected to be respectful and behave professionally in the server. We will not look at an applicant's social media presence or their outside work when looking over their application. However, if it becomes known that an application or contributor is producing or promoting content that is discriminatory, exclusionary, or hateful towards real-life groups, they will be removed from the zine.🖼️ All contributors are expected to adhere to the zine schedule and inform their role mod if they need an extension. Please make sure you can work within the schedule when applying.🖼️[WRITER Requirements]PLEASE read through this section VERY carefully. A Look Through The Ages does NOT have normal writing pieces that you would see in a zine.🖼️ Written pieces for A Look Through The Ages will be under 500 words and writers will be required to write five (5) for a total of up to 2.5k words total across all pieces.🖼️ For A Look Through The Ages, your written piece will be based off the painting/art piece and the character(s) that an artist selects.🖼️ You are REQUIRED to work with a small handful of artists if you are accepted as a writer. You are expected to actively communicate with your artists in the Discord channel provided on the status of your piece. You are expected to share all check-ins with them as well.🖼️ You are required to submit your final pieces in the format provided by the formatting mod.🖼️[PAGE ARTIST Requirements]🖼️ All PAGE artists are required to create one (1) A4 portrait piece for the zine.🖼️ Your piece must be fully colored and have a background.🖼️ You are REQUIRED to work with a writer if you are accepted as a writer. You are expected to actively communicate with your artist(s) in the Discord channel provided on the status of your piece and any changes that occur. You are expected to share all check-ins with them as well.🖼️ You are required to submit your piece in the format provided by the formatting mod.🖼️[ADD-ON ARTIST ROLE: MERCH ARTIST Requirements]A Look Through The Ages will be operating its merch differently than the average zine. For ALTTA, most of our merch will be from pieces in the zine! That means that your page piece might also be a print or a sticker that is in the zine bundles! We really want to try to go with the "museum gift shop" feel to our zine bundle!In addition to that, we also would like to also have a selection of merch that leans more into the museum theme of the zine. For this, we have decided on a small selection of merch types that we would also like to include in our zine as well! In this application, you can also apply to make a merch piece as well! We will only be asking you for one (1) piece if you are selected.This is in addition to your role as page artist. This is not an independent role.For ALTTA, we are looking to make these "museum themed" merch pieces: a frame acrylic charm (physical), an attendance ticket bookmark (physical), digital stationery (planner pages, note pages, etc) and discord/digital planner reaction stickers!🖼️ All MERCH Artists are required to make one (1) pieces for the zine along with your zine piece. You will not be allowed to make more than one if accepted as a merch artist.🖼️ All your pieces must be templated correctly to be sent to production when submitting. Templates will be provided for you.
